Hospital Update

Dear Friends,

We have come to a new croassroads concerning Pastor Olsen. He was admitted to the hospital yesterday. The doctors along with Pastor and Sherry have called in Hospice care. The cancer has spread and the prognosis is not what we have hoped for and have been praying for. We still believe for a miracle and must continue to stand in the gap for Pastor and Sherry.

Over the next few days, Pastor and Sherry will be spending time either at the hospital or their home with all their children. We would ask that during these days that we, the church family, allow them this time alone and repsect their privacy. I know we all want to see Pastor and Sherry, let them know we love them and care. I encourage you to e-mail them or blog them so they can read your messages when they have an opportunity.

This is a difficult time for all and I would ask that you pray. Prayer is the only thing I know to do that can bring peace, comfort and hope. Let us remain continually at HIS FEET.

Pastor and Sherry I am still believing in the Miracle only GOD can do, he is still on the throne no matter what it may look like in the natural. I love you both and am so blessed to have you all in our lives. I pray for peace and comfort while we patiently wait on the Lord. We all know he is never late. Thank you Lord!

I had a feeling something was going on!! I dreamed about Eric all night last night, and couldn't shake the feeling something was happening or going on and started to pick the phone up and call 1st thing this morning. I am glad I checked to see if there were any new updates before I called. I would not have been able to hold my emotions and tears back!

I am still holding out for a miracle and standing firm on my beliefs that God is not through with you (Eric) YET!!!!!!!!!!

Sherry, Shane, Shaun and Kristen, cont. to look to the Lord for comfort, wisdom and guidiance. You are all in my thoughts and prayer, not a day goes by that I don't think of all of you and then stop and say a prayer for you. I will be checking for the updates as they come.

Love you always and forever,

The words of this song are all that I can think of today:

There’s a place of quiet stillness between the light and shadows reach,
Where the hurting and the hopeless seek everlasting peace.
Words of men and songs of angels whisper comfort bittersweet,
Mending grief and life eternal where joy and sorrow meet

There is a place where hope remains
In crowns of thorns and crimson stains,
And tears that fall on Jesus’ feet
Where joy and sorrow meet.
We love you!! - Jamey & Lisa

Dear Friends and Family,
Through it all, through it all, I've learned to trust in Jesus, I've learned to trust in God...

Today many of us carry a heavy heart and our eyes sting with tears. It is through these moments that I am so glad to be a part of the family of God. It is an honor to be able to pray and intercede on behalf of the Olsen family. Pastor and Sherry are in the palm of His hand and we must reach down deep and trust God for this journey. We have not been asked to understand, but to trust. We must continue to stand in the gap and pray. Prayer is the greatest gift we can give to the Olsen family right now.

May God Bless you all and truly this is the day the Lord has made. Let us rejoice in it.

Bless you,

Pastor Missy

Dear Pastor, Sherry, Shaun, Shane and Kristen,

We want to let you know that we are thinking about you today and are continuing to pray for you that you have peace, wisdom, strength, comfort and healing. Your family has always meant much to us from our days in Charleston. I have fond memories of our first conversation after you preached the evening service when you were trying out there. Two Texas families far from home, but joined by many things in common.

Your love and friendship since then is something we always carry with us and cherish. Thanks for being an encouragement to us and to countless others since you entered the ministry.

Love,

Rodney, Kathy, Caleb and Rebekah

How blessed we are as Christians to serve a living God who not only walks with us through these dark times, but carries us. I echo what Missy said. Jesus asks us to trust even when we don't understand.
Eric, Sherry, Shane, Shaun, and Kristen - I love you all so much.

Always,
Connie (Sis)

Eric and Sherry, I was emailed the news of your trial today. I am so sorry to hear of the prognosis, but I want you to know that I too believe in miracles and will offer you up in prayer along with my prayer chain of over 120 prayer warriors.
I have often wondered where you were and how you were doing as I reflect back to our days from SouthSide AG.
I hope we can be in contact soon.
Much love and remembrance.
God Bless.

Dear Pastor Olsen and Sherry,

I am praying for you and your family. I pray that God is with you every second of every day. I always pray that God's will be done in our lives. May we surrender our lives to him. There is a song entitled "I Surrender" by Rick Goad. It is a beautiful song. I cry out to God in song when I hear it. God is all we need. Also, an older woman I used to visit in the Nursing Home always told me "Let Go, Let God". I always remember those words.
You are in my prayers and thoughts. May God bless you always.
Love and prayers,
Michele, Stan, Hannah and Sarah Sweeney

We will be praying here in St. Louis. Words pretty much escape me at this time. But as I have continue to follow the blog I I can say without a doubt that God has used you Eric and Sherry on a grand scale. Your testimony will influence the lives of others for Christ from now until His return.
I love you all.

Pastor Eric, My God is A BIG God and if he can take my brother who had stage 4 cancer who laid in a coma and was told if God did not provide a miracle he would never leave the hospital. Rise up 10 day after the doctor told us that news over 3 years ago. and has been cancer free so far. HE CAN AND WILL DO THIS FOR YOU. You have impacted my life forever. I BELIEVE YOU HAVE ALREADY RECEIVED YOUR MIRACLE. Please let us be the joshua and calbes in your life. I love you so very much

Eric and Sherry,
Praying and praying some more. We trust that God is in control and holding you in his loving hands. Know that you are loved by people all over the US and that you are in our hearts. You have touched our lives and the lives of so many more. We will continue to keep you in our prayers in the days to come. I know that if God heals Eric or if he takes him home to heaven - either way he wins and finishes strong the race that was set for him. We love you.

Pastor, Sherry, and family,

You are in my prayers, always.
God is good all the time, even
when we are shaken, and don't
understand his will. He never
answers WHY for things, but he
does give us hope, peace and
power to overcome this world's
trials.

I appreciate your love for
Sunset Chapel and all you are
doing there.

I miss you since we've moved to
Jacksonville. I tried to send a
blog message at least 3 or 4 times
before and for some reason it didn't go through. I hope this one does.

Keep on keeping on always,

Love,
Judy Kreidman

Pastor and Sherry,

Sherri and I are reminded each day of the work God has done in our lives while under your ministry in Charleston and here in Miami. It was while we were all together in Honduras that God promised us our new precious little girl. We truly love you both and will keep your entire family in our prayers.
