Back From Houston

Well, we got back from Houston last night and truly there is no place like home. I am still recovering from Bronchitis and the Flu and have been blamed for giving half the known world what I had. My sister got it, Kristen got it, Sherry's dad got it, and Nancy, a friend of Sherry's got it. Well, I have made the decision that I'm not going to the doctor any more, they have nothing nice to say. After many tests, we met with our doctor on Wednesday to be informed that the chemo has had no affect on the cancer, and that the cancer has become more aggressive. She has discussed a new regimen of either a clinical trial study or a chemo pill along with an injection. After meeting with us she was going to call my local doctor to get a plan of action. She was amazed that I was not in pain in my hip as the bone where the femur comes into the hip has cracks and the cancer has disintegrated it. They actually made me walk to see if I could. She has recommended that we see our radiation onocologist to begin radiation and also an orthopedic surgeon to put ina pin or a rod. We are still processing all this. The one thing we know is that a miracle is not done until a miracle is needed - and that is right where we are. I am so proud of each of you and the prayers, love and support you have given. Our faith has not wavered, because God has not changed. Continue to pray the Word of God over us as we walk this journey together. I ask that you specially keep Sherry and my kids in prayer - their burden is great. I love you all!!!!! Pastor Eric Olsen

Pastor & Sherry,

I cannot tell you in words how George and I feel about the two of you. You have not only been our mentors but you have been our friends. He has given me a true mom in Sherry who has guided me with love and understanding through many different situations. And although the enemy wants to scare us and make us think the worse, he cannot win this fight! He is a liar!!! God is in control. He has always been and will always be our source. He is our strength, our refuge and our great HEALER!!! George and I will continue to stand in the gap for your family and your health. We pray total healing and victory of your life. We pray that the cancer in the blood will be replaced with the blood of Jesus which is perfect! You will be healed Pastor, we believe and we claim it in the name of JESUS!!!

We love you both so much!!! God Bless You!!!

Pastor Eric -

There are no words to really say. All I can do is continue to pray for you and your miracle. I just want you to know how very much I love you. It is because of you and the influence you had in my life that I am the Christian I am today. I just keep holding on to the words of a two different songs I like - God will make a way when there is no way and He's on on-time God - He may not come when we want Him, but He'll be there right on time!!

All my love and prayers!

I went to Sherry's classroom this morning, is so conforting to see you guys are back and didn't stay away longer as some people feared. God is in control in many ways, so He has able you to be back as planned and back to bussiness too, we need you Pastor and I know my Father knows that, we are praying and won't give up, but I can't deny that I am scare sometimes because I see the devil creating one lie after another one, waiting in every corner just to shake the bases of our faith, so we should stand strong, not with our own will and power, but with the one God provides, the one that has right now your hip working and you walking. I can see it in Sherry's eyes, she relys in His promise of great things happening to the faithful, after all she is the Bible reader of the house (LOL). Elcka Rangel

Jeremiah 29:11 says, For I know the plans I have for you... Certainly our plans would be so different from God when it comes to this situation of this cancer. My plan would be healing from the precise moment of diagnosis. However, my ways are not God's way. God is the same before a diagnosis as He is after a diagnosis.
I am praying for HIS PLAN for your life. Whatever the plan is, I trust Him!!!
I got your back Pastor!!

Love you,

Pastor Missy

I've heard Missy and you say it many times "we have to go by who we know and not by what we see." And I know God is still in control and He is on the throne. And I am trusting him too! Pastor, you and your family are so loved and I count it a privelege to have you as our Shepherd at Sunset Chapel. You have taught me so much since I joined this church in '04 and what I love most about you is that you lead by example. I will be praying that God's plan be fulfilled in your life and that He will bring His peace to you, Sherry and the rest of your family.

We love you all very much,

Lisa, Jackie, and Roxanne

Eric and Sherry,

It is not done, till it's done! Or is it, "It's not over till the fat lady sings"? LOL. And she hasn't sang yet, so its not over and God is the GREAT PHYSICIAN!! And the devil is a liar! It's sorta of like living in a dream/nightmare. I cannot and will NOT believe that it has come to this. God is still working and your hip is a prime example, the doctor didn't even think you could walk on and feels you should be having pain in it, BUT you can walk and your not having any pain! That's God working in you. Don't give up, that's what the devil wants you to do. Hang in there till the very end and continue to fight the fight. I have been praying for Sherry, the kids and the rest of the family and will continue to do so as I pray for you as well. You made me a promise on the phone one day not to long ago and I'm HOLDING YOU TO IT!!!!! Remember? You have to get better, God still has way to much work left to do on this earth and your a huge part of it... God needs you here, your family needs you here and I need you here. So FIGHT, FIGHT, FIGHT, like you have never fought before, stand FIRM, hold tight to HIS word, quote it back to HIM, remind HIM of HIS promsies to you and rebuke satan.

I love you and Sherry so much, your such a GREAT part of who I am and how I got to where I am and for that I will always be grateful. You have touched so many lives all over the US in so many ways and someday you will be rewarded, but for now you have more work here to do, so get busy fighting the devil.

I love you guys,
Terry

Pastor Olsen,

If you remember me this is Jessica Acevedo(MONTESINO), Maria's middle daughter.
I am so sorry to hear about what is going on in your life, but I am not sorry to tell you the same thing I told my father when he was in your shoes.
and that is this "Everytime you are placed in the hospital, everytime you have a negative person in front of you, and everytime you are in a waiting room, God has placed you there to minister to someone else and to show them how great your faith is in God"

Pastor Olsen I am praying for you, your wife, and your family.

May god process his plans for your life and may he heal you.

I always read your blogs, and my mom keeps me updated.
but I haven't written till now because when I read your blogs I think of my father and I miss him greatly.

Pastor Olsen,
whatever happens remember you are in God's hands and your family as well. If anything gets that serious don't be afraid of dying be excited about meeting God, and know that your family will be taken care of by a very large family of God that loves you all!
and if that is to happen tell my father I said hello and give him a hug for me.
but have Faith that God will heal you.

With love,

Jessica Acevedo
