Second Round of Chemo

Well, yesterday I started the second round of this kind of chemo. It takes about 8 hours. We arrived about 10:30 and got out about 6:45, and that's about all I remember. I had some back pain in the morning so took some of my night time pain medicine, knowing I was going to be sitting in a vinyl recliner all day. Well, I slept most the day, then I slept all night. Poor Sherry had to sit there that whole time without much conversation from me. The doctor has scheduled a CT Scan for Wed. to just see how things are going. We will also have chemo (about 2 hours) today and tomorrow. I must say that the continued response from so many of you has kept our spirits lifted. Continue to pray for us and keep writing those comments they mean everything. We love all of you so much and realize the family that we have made through the years is tremendous. Thank-you so much and remember that we love you!!!! God is greater than all our afflictions!!! Pastor Eric Olsen

Pastor Eric - So good to hear from you. You are in my prayers continually. Everytime I think of you, I pray for you. That's pretty often. I think of you many times throughout the day and I'm always checking for updates. I work for Family Christian Stores where you get to know your customers, I ask all of them that I know pray to pray for you to. Anyone I know that prays, is praying for you too. I tell them how important you are to me, how much I love you and Sherry, and what in influence and impact you have had on my life. It is amazing for me to read all the posts from so many other people's lives you have touched - I thought I was the only one (ha, ha). You and Sherry are amazing! Please feel the love that I am trying to send through the internet to help give you strength when your strength is down. I will be continuing to pray for you all. I love you guys!

Pastor Olsen,
Since I met You and Sherry both of you have been such and great example to me of what having Faith in the Lord is. Even now with this trial, your testimony of Gods goodness stands strong. Tonight many people around me were blessed when they found out the diagnosis the Doctors have given you Pastor and yet you are praising Him for who He is. Our family is praying for you and your family daily and I like many others have asked the prayer warriors I know to stand in the gap. I Love You and praise God for you both. Laura Nunez

Eric,
SO happy to hear from you - I get a little worried (I know I know pastor- I'm not supposed to worry and I'm getting better with that but sometimes it still sneaks up on me!) when we don't hear anything. I too, like many others tell everyone I know to pray for you. My Thursday night Bible study group is praying (one lady in there just finished treatment for colon cancer so she really relates) and our Joyspring Sunday School class on Sunday mornings is praying as well - one of our teachers finished treatment for colon cancer just last year.

Glad you got to sleep through the treatment. Give Sherry a hug from me and know that your St. Louis friends are praying and we love you. Cathy

Eric,

It is GREAT to hear from YOU!!!! The updates are great from Sherry but even better when they come from you personnally...... Our church, mom, dad, Jim, Joyce and of course myself are all praying for you and Sherry without fail. How are the kids holding up through all of this? We will keep them in our prayers as well.
Chemo is tough on ones body.. While you are going through it maybe Sherry can read you the book I sent ya'll and if you don't feel like listening, maybe she will get something from it.

I think of you on a daily basis and my heart breaks for you guys. It's not fair for someone so wonderful, and so dedicated to God and His purpose to have to go through this. But I know that He sees further ahead than we do and I completed trust Him and that He knows what He is doing.... It still doesn't make it any easier to deal with.

I still believe that this is an attack from satan, he is trying to drag you and your family down, to break your hearts and trust in God. Satan knows that his days are numbered, and he will pull any and all of his last tricks out of his bag to damage you in anyway he can. Continue to rebuke him!!!

Keep your chin up and your eyes on Him. I know that our prayers will be answered, maybe not when and how we want them answered, but they WILL be answered.

You and Sherry will always hold a VERY SPECIAL place in my heart and life. I love you guys soooo MUCH!!!! Take care and keep the updates coming when you feel up to it, otherwise have Sherry to keep us informed.....

Love you always,
Terry

How shocked I was to hear all that you & your family are going through. Many thoughts go back to the early 80's at B.A. Assembly. Remember the "NERD PARTY" or Find the party, party? Just thought I'd give you some funnies to think about. The scripture you have picked is awsome! You can count on our prayers.
