Back from M.D. Anderson

Well we spent a few crazy days in Houston returning home on Thursday. After many tests, from x-rays to catscans, bone scans and blood work we met with Dr. Phan on Wednesday afternoon. We have been informed that I have Stage 4, incurable cancer that has traveled to some locations in the bones as well as the lymph nodes. We begin some radical chemo tomorrow for about 9 weeks and then they may consider radiation on the bone areas. I appreciate you standing with my family at this time. I am so aware that the doctors are educated, but I am even more aware that they do not have the final word on the matter. God's Word tells us in the 107th Psalm to "give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever" then in verse 20 the Psalmist says "He sent forth his word and healed them; he rescued them from the grave". You see God will always have the final word on the matter. As you pray for us, I am asking people to pray the Word of God over us - it will not return void!!! I love you!!! I am so blessed to have the church family that I have and all of you as friends. Pastor Eric Olsen

Eric,

Stay strong and as Bill Orr always said to me....Keep your eyes on Jesus and not on the circumstances that surround you.

I pray for a sweet baby that was born with a serious heart defect. Her mom asked us to pray a prayer with them every day. I am now praying it for you. We will continue to pray and believe with you.

Lord, I pray that you will perfect Eric and Sherry in Your love so that tormenting fear finds no place. I know You have not given them a spirit of fear. You've given them power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). Remind them, Lord, that Your love for them is far greater than anything they face and nothing can separate them from it.
"I have heard your prayer, I have seen your tears; surely I will heal (Eric)." 2Kings 20:5
"I will heal (Eric) and reveal to him the abundance of peace and truth." Jeremiah 33:6
Lore, we thank you because You "took our infirmities and bore our sicknesses" Matthew 8:17. Thank you for giving your disciples the power to "heal all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease" (Matthew 10:1). I ask now for that healing for Eric.
Lord, I pray that you will heal Eric's cancer. Make every part of his body function the way You designed it to. Wherever there is anything wrong, set it in perfect working order. Give us faith to say, "O Lord my God, I cried out to You and You healed (Eric)" (Psalm 30:2)
God, You are our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). You have invited us to "come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need" (Hebrews 4:16). I come before your throne and ask for grace for Eric. Strengthen their hearts for this battle and give them patience to wait on you (Psalm 27:1-4). Help them to be always "rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, continuing steadfastly in prayer" (Romans 12:12).
"See, I have engraved Eric on the palms of my hands." Isaiah 49:16
"I sought the Lord, and He heard me, and delivered me from all my fears." Psalm 34:4
Heavenly Father, help Eric not to live in fear of possible dangers, but in the joy and peace of knowing that you are in control. We rely on You for everything, and this day I entrust Eric to You and release him into your hands.
Amen

Pastor Eric and Sherry:

There are really no words to express what's in my heart for you. All I know how to do is pray and I will be doing that. You have no idea of the many, many times that things in my life have come up that I remembered things I was taught or told by you that have helped me through. I'm holding tightly on to those things now as I pray for your complete and total healing! You continue to be an uplifting and encourager to all of us in your comments even during this difficult time. You are a wonderful man of God. I know that God is still on the throne and our prayers will be answered! I love you and Sherry so very much and I will be praying for you all.

Love & prayers,

Hello, Brother -
I've known you longer than anyone and can truly say that you've been such an inspiration in my life. From the time in elementary school when you walked home with me and protected me from that bully, to your ministering to me which led me to find the delight of my heart, my Lord Jesus Christ. We have a small army praying for you and know great things will be done as we each find ourselves growing closer to the Lord in our time of need. Blessed be the name of the Lord!! Love, Connie

By HIS stripes WE ARE HEALED. Eric I pray for God's divine healing in your body right now. Jesus took those stripes to His back for our healing so we could be healed and He DID NOT do this in vain. He did it for a purpose, for our purpose. I demand in the name of Jesus that satan take his hands off of you right now!! Satan is pulling out all of his last tricks on you because nothing else has worked. I demand in the name of Jesus that he leave you and your family alone. I pray that the Lord heals you from the top of your hairless head (ha ha) to the soles of your feet, from the layers of skin covering your body to the inner most parts of your being and soul. Your right when you say God has the last and final say of what happens to you and when it happens. Continue to trust in HIM always!!! I pray the Lord gives Sherry and the kids the strength they need to go through this with you. I know this has been hard on them as well. I will always, always remember everything I have every learned from you. Because of you, Sherry, the Lord and your teachings, your love and compassion, I am who I am today. If I can do anything, anything at all please let me know. I love you guys soooooooo much.

Love you always,
Terry
